This classic mods is now also available for Quake2. Developed by the masters themselves: id Software. Just like the original for Quake/Quakeworld, this mod pits two teams to capture the enemy flag and bring it to their own flag base ... There is 2 required files for this mod: q2ctf102.zip (5.4mb) dan q2ctf150upgrade.zip (4.2mb). The first one contain 5 battle maps while the second contains 3 additional maps. Just like the original Rocket Arena for Quake, now there is Rocket Arena 2 for Quake2. Some of the improvements are team match, several arena in one map and many more ... Download ra2211.exe for this mod (12.9mb). It is recommended that you also download the additional ra2220up.exe (15.1mb) file. Fair warning: after installation, the total space needed by this mod is around 72mb!! If you just want to try it out, you only need to get the first one. In this mod, the red team and the blue team are fighting each other. If any player is 'killed' he/she will be frozen and can only be de-iced after a period of time or being helped by a fellow team mate. If all the member of one team are frozen solid, the opposing team will get a bonus score. Well, here's a funny one ... :) Essentialy we just fight each other to got the chance to carry the chicken around to collect scores. The player who was able to carry the chicken for the longest total time wins. While carrying the chicken, we won't be able to shoot or improve our health, so ... run! This mod is a combination of some of the popular mods! Basically we fight for the flag (ala CTF), but every enemies killed doesn't die but become captive in a special jail (ala Freeze/JailBreak).
